Pumpkin Toss

Devin was recently called as Cub Scout Master. Tonight he conducted his first Pack Meeting at the pumpkin patch. It became the perfect place for Crew to burn some energy, harass some chickens and hang out with the big boys. He also attempted to bowl and play baseball with the pumpkins. He'd be the perfect pumpkin bashing partner, (not that were into that)

Hey Batter, Batter, Batter!!!

This was torture for Crew. All he wanted to do was sneak threw the gate and hit a couple of balls like his dad. How do you tell a child NO, to one of their greatest passions. It wasn't easy!

Trunk or Treat

October 24 Crew had his first Trick or Treat experience. His experience was slightly different from my trick or treat experiences. Mine started about the same time but we walked through my good old neighborhood, Stonebrook, accompanied by the usual neighborhood kids and one adult. Crew will get that experience on Halloween Day but the ward that we attend likes to have a "Trunk or Treat" usually a week ahead of Halloween. It was a good practice run for Crew and it provides motivation for Crew's grandmas to hurry down to California for Halloween. You have five days.

As soon it was time for the truck or treat Crew was ready to go with his pumpkin in hand. Once we got in the parking lot Crew took off and was running full speed car to car for the rest of the night. I have never seen him run so long and so fast. Crew was a trick or treating pro. He always got the extra treat allotment because he was so cute and said "please" or "trick or treat". The pictures don't give justice too how fast Crew was running. By the end of the night Crew made a few friends.

Copy That!

The other night we came across a TV show about the Coast Guard. Of course it was the helicopters that caught Crews attention. Before I knew it he wanted his chopper shirt on, along with his head set (from Devin's X-Box Live) and the walkie talkie (the charger to Devin's electric razor). All of which he ran around the house collecting himself. I think he really thought he was a part of the rescue mission and thought that when they talked, they were talking to him. I was hilarious to watch.

Monster in the Closet

With Halloween being only two weeks away and the costume selection getting smaller and smaller, I decided it was time for me to make up my mind and get one for Crew. I couldn't wait until Halloween to show how cute of a little Monster he is. Devin taught him how to growl. Were working on the "Trick or Treat" but I think the growl will have to do.

College Football

This year's college football season has been great. Today the temperature was 81 and tomorrow the No. 8 ranked BYU cougars play the No. 24 ranked TCU horn frogs in a Mountain West show down. Crew is also enjoying the college football season. Crew really enjoys playing football on the xbox. Not because of the love of the game but rather he loves to see Cosmo dance! Whenever Cosmo makes a big screen appearance Crew jumps to his feet to point, yell, clap and grunt. These pictures were taken just this past weekend.

Play Ball!

The worst job of my life was a little league umpire when I was 15 years old. I was paid 15 dollars per game. The low wage wasn't the reason why that gig was terrible. It was either the relentless cold Idaho wind or screaming parents. Looking back on that job I realized that I gained valuable experience. First of all that Job taught me that my point of view was always right or the only view point that mattered. jk. Also I learned that most of the time the parents are more emotionally involved in sports than the children.

I need to remember that as Crew grows older and participates in sports and other activities. Especially when Crew is already hammering the ball off the tee and running circles around kids who are older on the playground.

Back to being a umpire. One game I called a strike that ended the game. The losing coach was so mad that he told me he would pay me to stay away from the game... haha. I guess I also learned at 15 years old to talk tough to adults and stand my ground.
