Play Ball!

The worst job of my life was a little league umpire when I was 15 years old. I was paid 15 dollars per game. The low wage wasn't the reason why that gig was terrible. It was either the relentless cold Idaho wind or screaming parents. Looking back on that job I realized that I gained valuable experience. First of all that Job taught me that my point of view was always right or the only view point that mattered. jk. Also I learned that most of the time the parents are more emotionally involved in sports than the children.

I need to remember that as Crew grows older and participates in sports and other activities. Especially when Crew is already hammering the ball off the tee and running circles around kids who are older on the playground.

Back to being a umpire. One game I called a strike that ended the game. The losing coach was so mad that he told me he would pay me to stay away from the game... haha. I guess I also learned at 15 years old to talk tough to adults and stand my ground.

Look at his cute face! (And perfect form.)

I love how confident he looks when he is in his "ready" stance. That attitude will be a great attribute!

I remember when you were an umpire! He is so cute! He already looks like his daddy.

HIs stance looks so familiar, like what you see the big guys do at the "real"games. He is a doll!

Uh oh. He's getting his weight out on his front foot. He'll homer on a fast ball, but get fooled by the junk.
