Yard Work

Look out Cooper. There is a new grandson on Grandpa's beloved lawn mower! Don't worry Cooper, Crew got the first ride of the year but you will get a turn when the grass is green and needs to be cut.

Saturday the wind was blowing but the weather was somewhat decent enough for a little yard work. We started the day by planting four trees in Mom and Dad's backyard. After standing on the far corner of Mom and Dad's lot I realized that the back yard is so big that they are going to need cell phones or walkie-talkies to talk to each other while working in the yard. That could be a good gift idea for the parents but make sure its a hands free set up.

Planting new trees is a really fun activity. It put a smile on my face but I am not sure why. It is a little intimidating knowing that the location you plant the tree is final and that the tree will live and grow for many generations to come. During the tree planting Crew tripped and got his first real taste of dirt. It was sad and funny all at the same time. After all the yard work and dinner Grandma spoiled Crew with multiple bed time stories because one is never enough.

The World through my Eyes

The other day my Dad was looking through these funny glasses to help him see further. I learned later that my Dad wasn't using glasses but binoculars. I was fortunate to have a turn looking through the binoculars. When I held the binoculars to my eyes it became very dark. In fact it was pitch black like my eyes were closed. My Dad asked me if I could see the cows, horses, and birds. My mind was able to pierce the darkness and I saw hundreds of cows! I started to "moo" for every cow I saw. Then my Dad said that "I needed to open my eyes to be able to see the cows." One day my Dad will learn that you don't have to see with your eyes open!

18 Month tribute to Crew

Bloggers:

Rachel and I put together a little video for Crew showing his progression over the past 18 months! The video is kind of long something like seven minutes. I am attaching a link to my web gallery where you will find the video. Click on the link below and try to enjoy Crew as much as we have enjoyed Crew. Thanks

A day in the Life of Crew

The pictures below depict a day in the Life of Crew. Crew wakes around 7:30 every morning. However he will hang out in the bedroom entertaining himself until 8:00. After 8:00 Crew eats breakfast. Crew's favorite breakfast food at the moment is Oatmeal and raisins. The raisins must be added from the little red Sun Maid boxes. If the raisins don't come from the little red box then for whatever reason Crew wont eat them. After breakfast Crew helps clean the kitchen. At that point chaos is the theme throughout the majority of the day. Crew is completely spontaneous. Crew's favorite past times include flushing toilets, playing in the garage, going outside, playing swords, going downstairs, riding his bus, riding four wheelers, seeing cows, eating and asking for Cookies, and teasing Grandma's cat Missy.

Graduation

Graduation went according to plan. The ceremony was good and the lunch following at my parent's house was even better. Crew experienced the walk across the stage and the receiving of the diploma with me. Thanks everyone for your love and support during my entire schooling process. Yes Mom that even includes the crazy old lady who was my tutor that help me read when I was in the first grade.

Someone is Watching

After riding on the Four wheelers and taking Crew out for a short spin now all he wants to do is get back on the four wheelers. I better make sure that I am always setting a good example because Crew is at the age where he is watching and doing! i.e. Helmet.

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school! It was a pretty easy day considering that I only had one class left and a final t0 take. The final was a short answer 18 question exam. It was pretty easy. Following the exam I rewarded myself by upgrading my MacBook's ram to 4 gigs from 1 gig.

To my surprise when I came through the door to see Rachel I found this! Rachel you are the Best! You are so thoughtful and sweet! Thanks for the special day!

After a quick surprise party, and lunch from Hong Kong we decided to spend the rest of the day with Eliza and Jason. We went for a quick ride on the ATV's. The mud was thick and we made a mess!

These feet belong to Rachel and Eliza... I don't know about you but it takes two pretty crazy girls to wear flip-flops while riding ATV's.

This photo was taken after a few runs through the mud pits.

These pictures speak for themselves...

Toys "R" Us

Rachel and I thought it would fun to take Crew to Toys "R" Us. I am pretty sure that Crew has been there before but this time Crew was fully aware of his surroundings. I am surprised that we were able to get out of there without a major tantrum. Once we entered the store I put Crew down and I just followed him up and down the isles. Then we found the Power Wheels. I have never seen him so excited and happy. After finding the Power Wheels he was not interested in the rest of the store. We tried to lead him away from the Power Wheels but as soon as we let him go he went straight back to his truck and corvette. The reason why we went to Toys R Us was to purchase some foam swords and a basketball hoop. Now we might have to go back and get a Power wheel.

School is out for the Summer!

Out for the summer? I ment to say that I am graduating on Friday! I can't believe how fast the time goes. It seems just like yesterday when I was a freshmen walking around campus trying to figure out where to be next. My success in school needs to be credited to Rachel. She has supported and stood by me this entire time. Now I need to make the big bucks and have some fun! We will be moving to California the end of April. Check out my first ever architectural rendering... Nothing better than traditional row houses. I messed up the foreground and background but I would have to say the actual buildings look pretty good. This was my final project. My teacher gave me a 93%...

I feel a year older!!!

Maybe it's because I have a 1 1/2 year old, or because I can't seem to catch up to how fast the years are going by. Or is it because I feel like I already need knee replacements. Regardless, from now to July I am two years older than my husband. I always find that kind of funny.

German Pancakes. This is my favorite breakfast dish. My wonderful mother made them for us.

This might come as a surprise to most of you. DEVIN CAN SHOP! He does really well when it comes to buying things for me. Oh but they don't come wrapped in pretty paper and bows on my Birthday. Within 5 minutes of him walking in the door, he hands over what he bought. He gets so excited as if he were the one receiving the gift. It's pretty cute.

Hubby Knows Best

The very same day that I was thinking to myself how we have to buy a vacuum before we move. Cause I'm a neat freak and have to clean our place myself before anything is unpacked.
Devin brought me home my Birthday present! A Dyson Ball vacuum. There is nothing more refreshing to me than vacuuming. It could not have been more perfect.

Crew's vacuum obsession continues to go on. He's crazy about the new addition to the family.

I also got a night out. Dinner at Texas Roadhouse and a movie. It was great to escape the stresses of finals for a few hours.
