We're PREGNANT!

We had our first Dr.'s appointment today (4 weeks later than it should have been). I'm 12 weeks pregnant. Due April 17. And already pooching. They sure are right when they say you show earlier with your second child. The nurse wasn't able to locate a heartbeat with the monitor they normally use so we got lucky and were able to have an unexpected little ultra sound. The quality was poor as you can see but we have our regular ultrasound on Monday. Crew is already patting on my belly saying baby. If he only knew what was really going on and how his life is going to change in 6 months. Ha, I guess I'm speaking for myself. But we are so excited to add to the bunch.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

I went to check on Crew last night before I went to bed and had to grab a picture. What I found was just too cute.

Family

We didn't take any pictures this weekend. Rachel kept repeating that as we drove home from Uncle Bobby's house in Glendale. The picture above was taken over the last few weeks. I love my family.

Saturday Crew and I essentially spent the whole day together as Rachel spent time with her Mom and Aunts. It was great. We went to our cousin's little league practice. Which was a lot of fun. Later that night we went to a block party in Glendale with Uncle Bobby, Aunt Cathy and their kids. The block parties in LA county are definitely different than block parties in Bonneville county. The food was unique and covered all genres. The Persian food was the best. Crew of course stole the show and received a lot of attention. It was clear after watching Crew at the little league practice and the block party that he wants to be a big boy so he can ride bikes, skateboards, and play sports like the rest of the guys. I realized that moment is going to come faster than I realized as I watched Crew run up and down the street at the block party.

Kevin and Shan please let me know how I can contact you.

The Holidays Are Here

I love, love, love Halloween. I only wish I could bake treats to look as yummy as these. And if I had a house, not to mention extra money. I would have one of those obnoxious homes that was covered from top to bottom in decorations. We wont make it home to Idaho Falls before Halloween snif, snif. My mom always decorates so fabulous and fun. We're going to miss it. I'm still stumped at what Crew is going to dress up as. I'm trying to come up with a creative idea but that doesn't seem to be working. We might just have to go for Buzz or a construction worker.

WE HAD VISITORS!

Eliza has recently moved down to Houston to be closer to Jason (her fiance). Work was cancelled for him all week due to the hurricane. Soooooo, they jumped on a plane Wednesday night and came to visit us.
To feed Crews obsession with planes and choppers they brought him a remote controlled helicopter. He went crazy over it and hasn't put it down since.

Thursday night we went to the L.A. County Fair.
The greasy food was delicious. At least the boys thought so. Me and Eliza decided to go for something a little safer.

This is for Grandpa VanderSloot. Crew loved it!
Crew was two inches too short for the rides. So we spent most of our time watching him attempt to throw ping pong balls into bowls. One of which he made. He couldn't have been happier.

This was his prize.

There's nothing like an IN N OUT cheeseburger-animal style.
And nothing like the feeling of the sun, sound of the ocean and joy of having loved ones around.

Angel in the Outfield

Last night Rachel, Crew and I had an awesome opportunity to attend the LA Angels game. The seats couldn't have been better, just another perk of the job.

Crew spent a lot of time with his mouth on the railing. Crew knows a little bit about baseball. We play it together every night. He knows what it means to hit a home-run and a foul ball. Crew also thinks its funny when I say "Hey batter, batter, batter..."

The gentlemen who took us to the game also brought some of my co-workers and his kids. Crew really looked up to Michael and watched his every move.

The best thing about baseball game is peanuts, cracker-jacks, and baseball cards.

"Hey batter, batter, baaaaaaatterrrrrrrr..... Swiiiiiiiing Baaaaaatterrrrrrr!"

"Crew, we only eat the peanuts NOT the Shell!" Where was Grandpa Nelson to show his great grandson how to eat peanuts?

Morgan and Crew sitting in a tree.... k-i-s-s-i-n-g!

Crew seriously drank half of my pepsi before I knew what had happened.

The game was one of the best baseball games I have ever seen. The LA Angels Ralley Monkey was out in full force. The bottom of ninth the score was 3-3. The count was full with two outs and a man on 1st. The last pitch of the game was tossed and the LA Angels catcher put his bat on the ball. The ball sailed through the air into deep left field (right where we were sitting). The Left fielder approached the warning track and LA held their breath. The rest was "GONE JOHNSON !!!!!" A walk off two run homerun shot! The crowd erupted! Crew was at the back of the suite playing with some toys during the two run homerun blast. The noise of the crowd made my little man cry with fear. What a great MLB/ father-son moment.

My Little Chef

Crew loves to help in the kitchen and he loves to make messes. The two don't mix well. But since he is such a good helper, I let him get away with making the mess.

The Season of Engaged Sisters

Sadie Jane, my little sister, was proposed to over the weekend. The lucky fella is Jeff Sabin of Washington. He's a perfect match for her and the family. We love him and are so excited for them.

Almost 2

Crew's foot no longer fits in the palm of my hand. He puts himself in his car seat, plays x-box, brushes his teeth, cleans his room, pees in the toilet, plays Duck-Duck-Goose and takes out the trash. I miss my baby but I love what he is becoming.

Lights Out!

Last night our power went out TWO different times. For about 45 minutes the first and 10 minutes the second. Crew was in charge of the flash light and did an excellent job leading us around the house. We read books, snacked on Gold Fish and made scary faces with the flash light. Crew gets so scared when he sees this picture of Dev. I kind of do too.
