Gone Crabbin'

This weekend we took our annual crabbing trip to the Oregon Coast. Before we headed to the beach we stopped in Portland to see Devin's brother Adam, his wife and darling little girl.

I didn't go out on the boats this year since I had Finley. Which means I don't have any pictures of the action. We weren't as successful this year as in previous, with the amount of crabs we caught. That can be a problem when your feeding 30+ people the crab for dinner. I don't enjoy eating seafood but every year I'll have a bite of the crab anyway. I'm kind of hoping on of these times my tastes will change. Not this year. It was still unappealing.

Copy Cat

It's so fun for me to watch the way Crew admires his dad. They're alike in so many ways. Here are just a few.

#1- Their butts are always hanging out.
#2- From tan lines to body structure, to the way they stare at the T.V.
#3- They can fix anything and everything.
#4- They both LOVE sweets
and Watermelon. They even curl their toes the same way when they eat.

And for fun, here is my attempt to take a picture with my kids. Adding a third person makes it complicated.

Halloween in August

I had been avoiding this fireman outfit for over a month. Every time Crew would see it at the store he'd go crazy. I finally gave in and bought it for him.
My reason for this post is the pictures. They were taken the first time he wore the costume. He's on the ground coughing from too much smoke inhalation. I was laughing so hard. Where did he learn that!?

Forced to take extreme measures!

When Crew wakes up in the morning he gets a stool or one of his chairs and pulls it over to the counters and cupboards to get into the food. Not only the food, but my candy stash or anything else he's not usually allowed to play with. I suppose I could just get rid of the candy but what fun would that be. I have moved my weakness to a different spot but he still insists on climbing up to get into everything else. Putting all the stools and chairs up was my solution. It worked for about an hour. I should have known he'd find another way. He always does.

Swim! Bike! Run!

Devin ran his first triathlon over the weekend. He had to swim in the ocean, which made me completely uneasy until I knew he was out and safe. He had a good time and did a great job and is already in search for one that we can do together. Eliza and Jason came down to show their support. We had to hit the beach after. Crew found a couple of girls to play with that he is now calling his girlfriends. Girlfriends already! Should I be worried?

Finger-lickin' Good

Finley has found her fingers and she's lovin' em!

So much for his vegetables!

Crew was doing a great job helping me shuck the corn until he realized, "Ewwww there's hair!"

My Sweet Crew

Today, Crew went to the bathroom in his pants while we were at Barnes and Noble. After dragging him right out to the car HE said,

"Don't talk to me right now mom!
I'll put you in time out, spank your bottom and you'll cry!"

WOW! He stole the words right out of my mouth!

Disclaimer: I really don't talk to him like that. Don't ask me how he learned it.

HaPpY DaYs

We spent another day at the beach this weekend. This time with Eliza and Jason. It makes it so nice to have people around that can help entertain the kids. Devin and I were actually able to relax and enjoy a moment together.

Jason helped Crew build a sand chair. We couldn't get him to go in the water. All he wanted to do was play in his little area. Finley slept and would fuss every time we'd put her feet in the water. I don't blame her, so did I!

Brotherly Love

I finally got Crew to muster up the nerve to hold his little sister (kind of)!
He has no idea they're only a few months away from becoming best friends and enemies.
