A Day of Sewing

I decided this week that I needed to make a blanket for my daughter. I ended up making two cause I couldn't decide on fabric. They were quick and easy but some how managed to brake my sewing machine. In a failed attempt to fix it myself I had to sew them with the broken machine. I'm just happy it worked enough that I was able to get the job done.

The New Bed

Crew is growing up so fast. Where did the time go? Each stage of his life has been so fun and full of surprises. He loves his new bed and has been sleeping great. The adjustment was effortless. That's when it hit me. He wanted nothing to do with his crib and wouldn't leave his new bed alone. Just like that he was a big boy.

"Monkey ate the Poop!"

Saturday we took Crew to the San Diego Zoo. Most of our time was spent at the snake exhibit. Other than the snakes and riding the lift from one side of the park to the other, Crew wasn't as interested as we thought he would be. He enjoyed the animals but not the walks we had to take in between. While we were watching the Gorillas the dad touched the moms butt then put his hand to his face. Now the only thing Crew seems to remember about the day is that, "Monkey ate the poop!"
We were hoping that by taking Crew to the zoo it would spark his interest in other animals. We should have just gone to Sea World because everything still seems to be about sharks and dolphins.

IF ONLY...

...We had the space. This would be how I would set up this little girls room. I had been shopping online for crib sheets and bumper pads and found this bedroom. I absolutely fell in love with it. The baby will take over Crew's crib. We have a big boy bed coming for him today. Let's hope it's an easy transition for him.

Co-workers

As we've learned over the years. Whatever Devin does, Crew has to be a part of. Especially if it involves paper work and hard hats. Be careful, you just might get "The Look" if you try to get close and interfere. That little boy is serious about his work.

Shark Bait

Crew has been fascinated by sea life lately so we took him to the Long Beach Aquarium. Normally it's a trip or two during the week to Petco to watch the fish and snakes.
The Aquarium features different galleries that highlight the major regions of the Pacific. There were two different sting ray pools where you could pet them. And I mean PET! They'll swim right up to you like they want to play and will splash and jump around. I thought it was rather odd behavior since sting rays seem so threatening. Crew went crazy over the snorkelers who were in the tanks feeding the fish. They also had touch pools with starfish, coral and different plant life.
Crew hasn't stopped talking about the sharks and fish since. So we're on our way out the door to head over to Petco. Maybe if he's lucky he'll find a shark.

Time for BOWS!

My dear, sweet friend Megan sent me this fabulous blanket with these darling bows. I couldn't be more excited and anxious to use them. She is one of the most talented people I know and has the cutest things to offer. Check out her blog littlelondyn.blogspot.com.
