Rain, Rain, Go Away

Ever since our excursion to the park on Tuesday, the rain has been falling nonstop. We spend so much time at our parks that the kids and I go through withdrawals if we miss a couple of days. I can't imagine what a crazy, caged animal Crew would be without parks and sunny days. Thank goodness the forecast for next week is in the 70's, I think we'll survive until then.

If you look close enough you'll be able to see tooth #5 & #6. If she would only grow hair like she is teeth.

Another Year Come and Gone

We took the usual Thanksgiving trip to Idaho to shared it with our families. There's always a crazy crowd with my family because there and so many of us. And that is what makes it so much fun. Especially for Crew. He has so many cousins that we don't have to entertain him at all while we're there. It always makes for a really nice break for Dev and I.

Crew turned 3 on the 29th. I know I say this with ever Birthday but I really can't believe I have a three year old. I thought it would be fun to ask Crew a series of questions each year. Here are his answers from this year.

Where did you come from: Martins in Space
Who is your best friend: Oliver and dad
What is your favorite cereal: Bird cereal (Froot Loops)
Favorite color: Blue
Favorite toy: Legos
Who would win in a fight Spiderman or Superman: Batman
Favorite Song: Naughty or Nice (Santa Clause is Coming to Town)
Favorite food: Pizza
Favorite animal: Farley (my parents dog)
What do you want for Christmas: Ninja Turtle
Favorite show: Phineas and Ferb
Favorite thing to do with dad: Wrestle
Favorite thing to do with mom: Play with toys with her.

After shouting with excitement to the whole Dr's office that he had just gotten a shot (He's crazy, I know, he's obsessed with shots), he turned back to me and said,
"When I grow up I want to be a Dr. and make people feel better and give them shots".

There's Something Screwy Going on

I had found a couple of screws laying around the house. After spying on Crew, I have found where they belong.

AT LAST!

Tonight when I took Finley into the boys to say goodnight, Crew grabbed her hand, kissed it and said, "Goodnight Finley."
After Fin was born and we brought her home from the hospital Crew would say, "Go home baby!" He completely despised her and it went on for the first couple of months. I've been waiting patiently for their relationship to flourish and after 7 months it finally has. He makes her smile like no one else can.

Family Photos

I have yet to have our family pictures taken professionally. This is as close as they get. These individual and couple shots aren't doing it for me anymore and I know setting the automatic timer is going to cut it. So, I am in search for a photographer in this area. Any recommendations?

Talking Junkie

I was on my way out the door last night and Crew says to me, "Mom, I want to hit the road with you!"

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet!

These first four pictures are from the night of our ward's Trunk or Treat. Crew came up with the idea that we'd all be firemen and Finley would be our Dalmatian. Crew helped me create Finley's costume. To our surprise she kept it on all night.

The rest of the pictures are from Halloween night. Crew decided last minute that he wanted to be a construction worker. Devin threw together his outfit with a tool belt and hard hat. And Finley was our little monster. Crew was a lot more aggressive trick or treating last year than he was this year. He'd get really scared anytime someone wearing a mask would pass him or when we would approach a house with, "spooky" decorations. The best part is that Devin tried teaching him the naughty Trick or Treat song. Of course the only part he remembers how to says is, "Smell my feet, if you don't, I'll pull down your underwear." Thankfully Devin was unsuccessful and Crew didn't blab it at anyone's door.

Baby Hazel

The kids and I spent the last week in Las Vegas enjoying the arrival of Jason's and Eliza's baby. She was born on October 26 at 10:26 a.m. She was 8lbs 5oz and 20 inches long. She's perfect in every way.

Congrats to my other sister Tiffany and her husband Shawn on their new little one.

NOT Fresh off the Vine

When I was younger, I remember my mom taking us to the actual-pick your pumpkin off the vine Pumpkin Patch. Does anyone do that anymore? There are only a couple of patches like that, that I found located throughout Southern California. None of which are close to us. The bogus patches are full of pumpkins that are already gathered from the field and are 17 bucks a piece, mini carnival rides with creepy workers that you don't dare take your kids on. And a petting zoo that consisted of a goat, a sheep and three chickens.

Whatever happened to hay rides and corn mazes?

Once we got home, Devin and Crew cut open the pumpkin and began the gutting process. The first handful of seeds that Devin pulled out made Crew totally dry heave. After that he wouldn't go near it until it was complete.

Splish Splash

We've had rain the last couple of days and it's been a fight to keep Crew out of the puddles.
Solution: Rainboots
