Crew's Birthday Weekend

CREW IS 6!

We kicked off the birthday celebrations on Thursday in Crew's kindergarten class. I took in doughnuts, Crew was crowned the King of the day and the class sang to him. For dinner I made Crew's favorite,  sweet and sour chicken with rice, he opened gifts and we ate chocolate and key lime pie. 

Friday his grandma Belnap come into town and Saturday he had a birthday party with friends.

 Angry Birds was the party theme that Crew picked. We gave all the boys their own sling shots and used paint balls to attack the pigs.

Can't Stop, Won't Stop

Holy Moly Gunnar is 6 months...

And he's sitting up on his own...

And he has 8 teeth!

He also weighs 20 pounds and is 27 inches long.

Yes, this is normal for our babies. We make them big and they seem to always grow up faster than they're suppose to.

Dancing Queen

Finley experienced her first dance recital this week. I must have laughed through the whole thing because of her performance. In rehearsals she knew it all and rarely missed a step. But when it came time for the final performance, it was the complete opposite. If she wasn't staring into space she was yawning. Poor baby, I guess daylight savings has really effected her.

It started with a yawn.

*yawn*

And ended with a yawn...

...followed by a bow.

Regardless, we're so proud of her and she made the most beautiful ballerina.

As soon as we got home she gave up the fight.

Happy Halloween

Our morning started off with green pancakes. 

 Then we hopped over to Crew's school to watch the scarecrow parade put on by the kindergartners.

When Crew got home from school we rushed to carve our pumpkins just in time to light them up for the night. 

For dinner we enjoyed a family favorite, orange chicken (sweet and sour) with green rice.

Our new neighborhood provided the perfect route for the kids to trick or treat.

Our little man is 5 months old today. 

He is so chubby and squishy.

He loves to laugh and gives the best slimy kisses.

He adores his big brother and sister.

We just can't get enough of him.

And this is why I don't wear lipstick. 

He'd be covered from head to toe daily if I did.

Crew is explaining to Finley that there is only 1 ticket left between the two of them. And he was going to use it on the giant slide...which he did. She got over it pretty fast.

Kindergarten Kid

We experienced a lot of emotions leading up to Crew starting Kindergarten. When we went to his school for registration and orientation he would make comments like, "I'm so nervous, I can't breathe." "I'm going to throw up and I can't stop shivering." 

"What if kids pick on me?" 

His comments broke my heart and nothing I would say could calm his fears.

He's always been such a confident kids who can make friends with anyone. If only he could see in him what I do, he'd know that he has nothing to worry about.

Fortunately all of his worries were put to ease after he met his teacher and fellow students at orientation. 

He wasn't as nervous going into his first day and when he came home from it he kept saying, "It was the best day."  

On the down side. Finley got ahold of the camera and erased all but this picture from his 1st day. *tears*

Realizing that I didn't blog as much as I should have this summer, here is a picture to commemorate our summer.

Other than having a baby and moving into our first home, pretty much all we did was swim.

Brother Bear

This picture perfectly displays how Crew and Finley feel about each other.

They have such a special relationship that I pray continues to grow and last forever. 

Crew is so protective of his little sister.

No one can make them laugh the way they make each other.

They are partners in crime.

They are best buds.
