Rach's 10

10-I have a cheek fetish. Im not sure how to explain this it's rather strange but I love kissing cheeks. And Im very luck because Crew lets me smother his whenever I want. Dev's not as gracious.

9-I am aweful at remembering names. I can be introduced to someone and turn right around and have already forgotten their name. But I don't ever forget a face.

8-Along with my last one. I just have an aweful memory, period! And I've never considered myself as being very smart but I can spell just about anything. Dev gets great use out me when he writes his papers.

7-My right earlobe is attached and my left one isnt. It doesn't bother me at all but people seem to find it strange. Im not sure what it means if anything, but I have heard that whether their attached or not says alot about someone's personality. I guess a little bit of both never hurts.
6-Something I would love to achieve later in life would be to open an Orphanage. Preferably in Africa. It has nothing to do with Dev having been there or seeing what Oprah has done not that it's not amazing. It's something I have been interested in as long as I can remember.

5-Watermelon is one of my favorite foods. During the summer I can down a whole one, within the day, all on my own.

4-I have broken my left arm, bit my tongue all the way threw, cracked my chin open, broken my nose twice, and was hospitalized for three days for Mono that I later passed onto my sweet boyfriend at the time DEVIN. And have been in two different car accidents where both cars were totaled and I walked away with very minor cuts and bruises.

3-Dev is my best friend, my mentor, my coach, my hero, a wonderful father and truly my other half.
2-After spending time around St.George and the National Parks this summer I gained a new appreciation and love for the outdoors.

1-I have a great fear of public speaking. Most of you im sure have noticed that im a pretty shy not too outgoing person. If im in a large group I would rather sit and listen to what everyone else has to say, taking it all in, instead of sharing my thoughts and opinions.

Strong Man Competition!

Pre-Season Training: July 2007

As everyone was aware during the Pre-Season Crew was doing push ups, bear crawls, up-downs and much more. Now that the college football season approaches its half way point Crew is pushing himself to another level. Recently Crew has decided that pushing his princess of a cousin Kaitlyn around the house is the best way to keep his core strength, and power at all time high levels! Crew keep up the hard work. The strength and Conditioning will pay off when we play for the Conference Championship!

Cougar Town

Saturday was Crew's second BYU game but his first trip to Lavell Edwards Stadium. Each game Crew has attended the Cougars have been victorious (2-0). wink, wink. Grandpa V. Rachel and I really enjoyed the game Crew wanted to run around a little bit more than we could let him. None the less we really enjoyed the game. As a bonus we were able to stop in Tooele to see Tade! Tade is Crew's new cousin. Sara and Chris that little boy is amazing! Seeing Tade makes me want to have another.

Tautphaus Park ZOO

Crew took his first trip to the zoo today. His cousins Addy, Landon and Oliver are in town and were needing some entertainment so Aunt Eliza and I decided to take them to the zoo. The seals and giant tortoises was the highlight for the kids. They kept asking about the elephants and giraffes, I think I explained at least 3 times that the Idaho Falls Zoo is a very small one, too small for big animals like that. The stuffed snake behind the glass display and three monkeys just had to do. Crew liked anything that was moving otherwise he wasn't sure what he was looking at. He especially liked the goat that licked his hand. Ummm mom loves stuff like that. Thank goodness for the hand sanitizer outside the gate.

Crew enjoying the farm

Sorry y'all it has been a long time since I logged onto the blog and published a post. I just figured everyone liked hearing from Rachel rather than me. In this picture you will see Crew in his digs going after the flies at Grandma V's house! Rachel said this kept him entertained for a really long time. In fact he liked it so much that when I got home from work yesterday he was at it again.

Crew will stand up next to the window sill and wait patiently for a fly to land within the reach of his chubby fingers. Crew will then proceed to approach the fly with his index finger fully extended. Then as the prize (the fly) is inches away his thumb will slowly move into a pinching position. Then his round little hand gets so close that the fly will buzz off just in time. During the hunt Crew is steady, quite, and extremely focused. It is only after the fly escapes that Crew will breath, laugh and let out his Old man sounding screams. I was surprised to see this killer instinct in my son at such a young age. He really has figured out how to catch flies. If he could pinch faster he would catch them every time. Most of the time Crew literally touches these flies before they escape. Good times. Among other notes from the week out in Osgood is that Crew really enjoys Grandpa V's bulls, horses, and swans.

Photo Booth

Those of you who have been to or know anything about the Grand Teton Mall knows that there is not much to experience there. Crew and I had to make a quick stop at Zumies for uncle Caleb's birthday present and I thought it would be fun to slip into the photo booth for a quick set of pictures.

18 MILE RUN

Our journey began at 9:30 Saturday morning. I thought it would be fun to run from dad and mom Belnaps to dad and mom VanderSloots. So we dropped Crew off at G & G Belnaps and started what would be our first of 18 miles. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. We made our first stop during mile 5 at KJ's gas station for a bathroom brake and some liquids. 3 minutes later we were back on the road. Our route went down Sunnyside to So. Blvd down 21st to Rollandet to Pancheri then Skyline to Broadway to 45th then finally 33rd. Dev did have a couple of girls stop and ask for directions to the zoo. Yes the Zoo. I'm thinking they just wanted to get a better look at him close up. We made a second stop during mile 13 at Maverick. Needing much more water and Poweraide at this point. Our legs were starting to cramp and we could count the blisters that were forming on our feet. Back on the road again we were making great time. We were on our last two miles and Dev started getting really frustrated with me. I wanted to start walking (We hadn't walked at all up to this point) . He did sprint the last 1/2 mile without me. And let me just say I had to force Dev to do this with me. And the night before he kept saying he didn't think he could do it. Of course he displayed nothing but competativness and showed no signs of weekness. Toward the end of our run and into the next day we were both pretty sore. But to my suprise I woke up this morning with not a single sore muscle in my body. Not trying to promote or anything but I do have to say I give credit for my fast recovery to the Access bar and Proflex protein drink. 18 miles and 3 hours later, Dev said he'll never do it again. But I'm thinking we should make it a yearly run. So who's in?

9-11

I had a thought on the way to work this morning about Crew. I was thinking that little guy might have watched intensely from heaven that crazy morning of September 11, 2001. Even though Crew wasn't born the effects of that day are still cankering the world and our country even today and many more years to come. When we will figure this out? I hope sooner or later because the world is a different place in so many ways. Here are a few pictures of Crew since we have moved home from St. George.

Sting Ping

Weekend ping pong fun. This is all of the highlights from the sting ping match we played.

Sting Ping

Around, and around we go. Taking turns keeping the orange Ping-Pong ball in motion. The first player to fault four times must stand helpless as the others take aim. The anticipation of a sudden strike is almost torture enough. However once that screaming fast Ping-Pong ball smashes into your bare back you will wish you were still waiting. Yes, waiting for the penalty for not keeping that orange Ping-Pong ball in motion.

Keep Trying Caleb

Caleb you are going to be mad that I published this video to the web. Don't worry you're great! Just so you know this past weekend was awesome. Rachel, Crew and I had a great time. The 4 wheelers, guitar hero, trying to shoot your Mom's veggies with my shotgun, 93 percent on your history exam, the BYU football game, swimming in the pond, and Walmart burritos with Pace Pacante HOT salsa. The only thing that could have made this weekend better or more Caleb would have been fresh batch of Chewy Chips Ahoy! Anyways keep trying hard you make us proud, we love you and thanks for the awesome weekend.
